The house is in Tuscany, in the municipality of Arcidosso, close to Mount Amiata, halfway between Saturnia and Montalcino, one hour drive to Siena and 45 minutes to the beach. The house is at 700 metres above sea level in a sunny location. The view includes the Parco Faunistico, chestnut groves and the little villages around. The area is protected by the European Union as a nature reserve, because of the bird species that nest in this area.

The house is accessed via a private road of 350 metres. It has been restored to a high standard, respecting the Tuscan tradition: handmade terracotta tiles, chestnut wood beams, old tiles on the roof and outside plaster and paint using lime. The traditional characteristic are blended with modern technology, allowing this house to be registered in class C for energy use. The high level insulation, excellent quality windows and doors, solar panels for the producion of hot water (the boiler has a capacity of 800 litres), two tanks of 20,000 litres for the collection of rainwater and underfloor heating are all features that will bring lower running costs.
